An e-mail mid week from Tom...
"Coming to Maine this weekend
with an old friend of mine
to work on the land...
more firewood!"
This is what we brought home today...

| Tom and Bob had these all cut into 16 inch lengths for us when we arrived! |
After making a new "old friend"...
Bob...
“You can't stay in your corner
of the Forest
waiting for others to come to you.
We were ever so blessed
to visit their corner

What a wonderful and encouraging post.. So proud you met new friends, and know you will enjoy the cozy warmth the firewood will give you.. Sending prayers for each of you..[How is Gary? Pray for him each day]
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your continued prayers and support, Judy. Gary continues to have a wonderful attitude...the treatments are tough on him...but he is such a trooper!
DeleteHope you and Kenny are doing well...
Love,
Laura
Hi, Laura~
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're going to need all that wood with the weather headed your way!
What a sweet Pooh quote. I loved Pooh when I was growing up. I still remember my little Pooh footed pajamas. :-)
Continuing to pray for your brother here too.
Take care, and stay warm!♥
You sure said it, girlfriend! Latest update as of 9:30 this morning...we are expecting 2 feet of snow with blizzard conditions...astronomical high tides with major coastal flooding...power outages...hurricane winds...looks like a bad
ReplyDeleteone! We are preparing today...lanterns...water...WOOD!!!
I'm also baking a bunch of "comfort" goodies...always nice to have when the power is out!
Give my girl a big happy birthday hug today! Are you doing anything special to celebrate Miss Katie's birthday?
Stay warm!
Love,
Laura
Dear Laura~
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I'll be praying for you all in this storm!! Sounds like you're staying busy with all the preparations. Good thinking to do some baking now so you have something to enjoy if the power goes out!
We have our mid-week service on Thursday (something we inherited), and Katie goes to a local church's youth group on Thursday, so she'll be at church. She's planning to have one of her friends spend the night with her this weekend, so she's looking forward to that. We had a cake for her at school today, and we'll give her a few gifts when we get home. Hard to believe she's 15 now!! Time has flown!
Well, you all take care and stay safe. Warm hugs to you, my sweet friend!♥
Love,
Melanie
Good Morning Melanie!
ReplyDeleteWow! 15 years old! Hope she had a wonderful day yesterday...and a great time with her friend this weekend! My mom turned 90 yesterday...we had a little party...it was so much fun...she is such a tiny little spitfire!
As I write this...we have 5 new inches of snow...and they are saying this isn't even the storm yet. Most everything is cancelled...except my husband's work...so please keep him in your prayers for traveling mercies as he makes his way home this afternoon. All of the rest of my crew is home...which relieves my heart greatly. We are headed down to mom and dad's to bring in some firewood and do the first "cleaning out" of the snow.
Tried a new "old" recipe for donuts yesterday...the boys said they were delicious! I'll have to share it with y'all...it was super easy.
Have a fabulous weekend, my dear friend!
Love,
Laura
