All That "Mat"ters...

How I love weaving rope mats…

I make these mats from recycled

float rope…

Our local fishermen primarily used this type of

rope on their lobster traps…

Because of changes in fishing regulations…

the lobstermen must now use a combination of

float rope and sink rope…

So much of  "old" float rope ends up in our local landfills…

I have been blessed that some of our local

lobstermen are more than willing to

share their “old” rope with me…

Rather than throw it away…

This is just a small sample of some

of the rope I have acquired…

Today was such a beautiful day…

60 degrees in November with a

slight sea breeze…

As I was working on a mat…

My thoughts drifted to all the

“unrest” going on in our country…

the pandemic,

the election,

the rioting,

the job loss…

the list goes on and on…

Sometimes it can become oh so overwhelming…

And as my eyes gazed at the beautiful blue sky

And gorgeous autumn colors…

I was reminded that the divine will of

God is truly all that “mat”ters…

God is in control…

I need to trust that His hand is in all of this…

And surely this is what

 “mat”ters most…

“Wherefore be ye not unwise,

but understanding what the will of the Lord is…”

(Ephesians 5:17).

"Sew"...What Have You Been Up To Lately???

Having two little grandsons
has been such a joy for me in so many ways...
But especially because I just love to
make baby items!!!

Thought I would share with you
a few of the projects I have been working
on in the past few months...

diapers...

And something to help when changing!

little washclothes...

carseat cover...

Hanging out with grampie wearin' my new slouch hat!

many hats!

afghan and dolly...

booties...

Woodland creatures for a mobile...

These are just a few of the projects
that have been keeping me busy
during these cold stormy winter days...

I would love to hear what you have all been up to?
Any projects that you'd care to share?
It is always so much fun to see what others are working on!

I feel so blessed that my mama and my nana
took the time to share their talents and skills with me...
to teach me how to sew...and knit...and crochet...and cook...
And I feel blessed when I get the opportunity
to share what I've learned with my "daughters!"

3"Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may]encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,  to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored..."
Titus 2: 3-5

"Snow" Much Joy!

It has been almost a year since my last post...
I have missed you all...
But we have been so busy!
I hope to share some of our "busyness"
in the posts to come...

We now have 2 precious grandsons...
Almost a year apart to the day...
Oh the joy that fills our hearts.

Recently, our little Noah came to spend
the afternoon with Nana...

It was a perfect day for playing outside
in the snow...

We went sledding...

And caught snowflakes on our tongues...

Then we took a walk to meet Grampie
on his way home from work...

But having fun is hard work!
And one of us didn't quite make it all
the way to the end of our dirt road! (smile)

God has so richly blessed us with our
two "little men"...
What a joy it is having them both live
so close by...

This is definitely the best way to get to Nana's house!

Sometimes we get visits in the evening...
If  Papa and Mama feel like taking a stroll...

These two precious blessings have reminded
me how important it is to be thankful
for the "little joys" in our daily lives...
Joys we often miss in our "busyness"...

Nana's house...where cousins meet...to become best friends!

"Grandchildren are the crown of old men,
And the glory of sons is their fathers..."
Proverbs 17:6
