Today, we are celebrating.
At 10:43 AM, our son, Daniel,
sent off his final term paper of this semester.
Daniel has written 3 term papers
and taken 2 major exams
along with various other assignments.
In May,
Daniel will have finished
his Masters Degree
in Theology.
Most young men who
follow this road
have plans to become pastors.
Daniel knows that the Lord
is leading him in another direction.
His plan is to teach...
For Daniel believes that although
there are many learned men
in our colleges and seminaries...
Not all of them are teaching
the Word of God...
But instead,
The words of themselves
or other men.
So, it is Daniel's prayer...
That his ministry will be
to bring the Truth
to a college setting
and perhaps through his writings.
Recently, my husband received
several boxes that contain
some personal items left to him
by a family member
who had recently passed away.
who had recently passed away.
In one box
There were some books...
Not for my husband,
But for Daniel.
Old books...
Books of God.
For Daniel...
So you can teach the Truth.
"Make me to understand
the way of thy precepts:
so shall I talk of thy wondrous works."
Psalm 119: 27

Laura, This is wonderful! I have a Daniel, too, though everyone calls him Danny. He's passionate about following the Lord; it's exciting to see our children grow up following after Him.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!

Dear Christine,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment. What a blessing it is for us as parents to see our children follow the Lord.
Have a blessed weekend,
Laura
Oh congrats to him! I am sure that he is more then happy to finally be finished! :o) I think that it's good that he wants to be a teacher with his education. It is so important to help train up others and not always preach up others. This is coming from a pastors daughter! ;o)
ReplyDeleteDear Laura...thank you for sharing about Daniel...such a fine young Christian man...so much to be thankful for! Weekend blessings ♥ Teri
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time! I am sure you all enjoyed your celebration. :) It is always an encouragement to hear of others, and especially young people, who have a heart for the Lord and His Word and the desire to serve Him, and to teach and share His Truth with others!
ReplyDeleteOh Laura,
ReplyDeleteThis is just fantastic! And Our Lord knew that Daniel needed those books...Amazing indeed!
Be blessed dear friend,
M.
Dear Nabila Grace,
ReplyDeleteTo be sure, Daniel is so thankful that this week is over! We can hardly believe that he only has one more semester. He has been working so hard...one of his goals was to finish his schooling debt free...and it looks as though he's going to do it! Along with teaching at the college level...he is hoping to continue coaching soccer. He really enjoys working with teenage boys...trying to be a good role model for them. We feel that God has truly blessed us with all three of our sons.
Have a blessed weekend,
Laura
Dear Teri,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment. This has been a long road for Daniel, to be sure, but one that he has enjoyed immensely. He would like to get his doctorate once he begins teaching, Lord willing. He has already done some teaching at the high school level at our local Christian high school.
Have a wonderful evening!
Laura
Dear Miss Sarah,
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice for Daniel to not have to spend the day with his nose in a book or at the computer for a change. We enjoyed a quiet family day today...getting outside a bit...working on some inside projects...just spending some time together enjoying each other's company.
Hope you and your family have a blessed weekend,
Mrs. Laura
Dear Maria,
ReplyDeleteIt was such a joy for us to open the box and find the books meant especially for Daniel. A few of them are really old...we think they may have belonged to his great grandfather or even further back. We love items that have been passed down in the family...such treasures and memories.
Have a blessed weekend,
Laura
Wow Laura! How wonderful and thrilling. He sounds like my son. But what an accomplishment! I bet you are so proud of him!

Dear Donna,
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you! We are just so happy for Daniel...this has been a long road. I'm sure that you feel that same way about your son!
Blessings,
Laura
Laura thank you so much for the comment over at my blog. I am glad you found me and I am glad I found your blog too! What an encouragement that your son wants to teach the Truth of the Lord to others. That is a great thing and I am striving to do that too to all the young ladies around me.
ReplyDeleteIn Christ,
Rebecca
Dear Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to have you stop by for a visit! What a wonderful goal...to teach the younger ones the Truths you have learned. I pray that your ministry will be blessed as you continue to serve Him!
Have a blessed evening,
Laura
